Ms Ann Chua


Senior Ballet Teacher

Born and raised in Malaysia, Sharlene Chua (Ann) began her professional training at Asia Ballet Academy in 2019. Over the years, Ann has participated in numerous performances, including roles such as The Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland, Fairy Doll, Don Quixote, and Tour de Force Carmen with Ballet Manila. She has also competed in various competitions and earned scholarships, such as TDS Competition with a Full Scholarship to Singapore Dance Academy, IBGPS scholarship at Youth Arts Festival, and SCDIBC Malaysia, where she received scholarships for the CISCA Summer Intensive.

Ann's passion and dedication led her to secure a company contract with Arts Ballet Theatre Florida for the season 2022 to 2024. During her time in Florida, she had the privilege of performing a variety of choreographies, including Shostakovich, Pentimento, Danzon, Double Clef, Le Corsaire and the timeless classic, The Nutcracker. Also under the guidance of Director Vladimir at ABTF, Ann successfully completed her Russian Ballet Association Certification (RBA), solidifying her knowledge and teaching expertise in the Vaganova method.

Overall, Ann aims to inspire dancers of all generations with the experiences and insights gained from her journey.
