Mr George Chiang

Advisory Board member

George Chiang was born in Ottawa, Canada and is of Taiwanese descent.  He has been involved in the development of numerous new plays, musicals and translations including his own Dances with Gold Dust and Urban Donnelleys, which he co-created.  George wrote and composed the musical, Golden Lotus, which was the first Canadian musical ever presented at the ASCAP Foundation/Disney Musical Theatrical Productions Musical Theatre Workshop in New York.  Golden Lotus won the Hong Kong English Drama Award for “Best Original Work” at the 2015 Hecklers Awards.  George wrote the book, The Railroad Adventures of Chen Sing, which won two 2017 Global E-Book Awards for “Children’s Literature” and “Juvenile Fiction.”

George is also an actor in theatre, film & television.  He has appeared in numerous plays and musicals and spent spent a season at Canada’s flagship theatre the Stratford Shakespeare Festival where he appeared appeared in Othello and Twelfth Night.  He has also appeared regularly in film and television productions such as Disney’s Eloise at the Plaza, McKenna Shoots for the Stars, Mary Kills People, Dark Matter, Mayday, XIII, among many others.  George will also be seen in the upcoming feature films X-Men: Dark Phoenix, The Hummingbird Project and Flarsky
