Arthur started his Chinese dance training in Starwave Dance Company. He completed his professional training from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with Bachelor of Fine Arts with First Class Honors, majored in Chinese Dance. During his study at HKAPA, Arthur received numerous scholarships include HKSAR Government Scholarship, HSBC HKSAR/Mainland Exchange Scholarship and Outstanding Dance Student Award. He was also invited for cultural exchange performances in Shanghai and Italy.
He has an extensive experience in performances. He performed with professional dance companies like the Hong Kong Dance Company in “L’Amore Immortel” and its Outreach program in Macau “Journey to the West.” He also performed with the Hong Kong Repertory Theater in “Hello Dolly”,“1894 Hong Kong Plague-a musical” and “Scrooge.” He was awarded Excellent Male Dance Award in Bauhinia Cup International Dance Invitation Championships 2010, “The Best Male Dancer” Award from the The 4th Minorities Dance Performance and Gold Award of the Hong Kong Open Dance Contest. Arthur also worked as a choreographer with the Hong Kong Children’s Musical Theatre in “Le Petite Prince”. In the production “Hashtag” of Prospects Theater, he was the director and choreographer.
Besides his professional career in dance, he also demonstrates his exceptional skill in management. He worked as stage manager and production manager in both local and international events such as “Stars of Canaan Dance International Ballet Competition”, “The Classics” and “Your heart will lead you home”. He was the stage manager of “Hong Kong Episode”, a multimedia performance of a fusion of jazz, classical music and media. Alongside with Drip Music, he toured London, China and Taiwan.
Arthur is appointed Managing Director of Ivy Chung Ballet Asia and Canaan Dance.
