Mr John De dios

Senior Ballet Teacher & Contemporary dance teacher (Pulling technique)

John De Dios,  originated from Bacolod City, Philippines. He began his dance training at the age of 16, specializing in contemporary under the mentorship of Lydia M. Gaston and Dwight Rodrigazo.  In 2010, John pursued Mass Communication at Far Eastern University and became part of the university's dance troupe.  He joined Ballet Manila School in 2012, where he became a Company Artist in 2014.

 

During his time with Ballet Manila, under the direction of Lisa Macuja-Elizalde, John had numerous opportunities to showcase his talent in renowned classical ballets such as Don Quixote, Giselle, Le Corsaire, La Bayadere, Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, and Romeo and Juliet. He has performed various principal roles, including Ali in Le Corsaire, Basilio in Don Quixote, Solor in La Bayadere, Peasant pas de deux from Giselle and Benvolio in Romeo and Juliet. John also collaborated with esteemed guest choreographers such as Augustus “Bam” Damian, Jonathan Watkins, Martin Lawrence, Paul Vasterling, and Annabelle Lopez-Ochoa.

 

In January 2020, John joined the Singapore Ballet as an Artist. He had the privilege of performing in full-length classics like Nutcracker, Coppelia, Don Quixote, and Romeo and Juliet. Additionally, he has worked on pieces by internationally acclaimed choreographers such as Tim Rushton, Edward Liang, Kinsun Chan, and Choo San Goh.

 

He further sharpen his skills by completing the Composition and Movement Analysis Program, as well as Dance Improvisation under World Dance Alliance Philippines.
